This event is all about honoring and promoting Black history, creating awareness, and supporting important causes. It's an opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make our region so diverse and vibrant.

We bring you a weekend of activities to showcase the best of African and Caribbean music, art, food and culture.

On Saturday 1st July and Sunday 2nd July we will be at Bournemouth Square.

Activities will include drumming workshops, African dancing, Caribbean dancing, Urban Street Dance, live music, crafts stalls, hair wrapping tasters, storytelling and spoken word.

Afro Tallawah

Afro Tallawah’ carries on the eclectic mix of Afro beat and Reggae vibes of ‘Afro Tallawah’, featuring original singer-songwriters Asher, Ebi, Kelly and Lance to bring the sunshine to you. ‘Afro Tallawah’ represents a tantalising mix of Reggae and African fusion inspired as wide as  Caribbean ,Jamaica, Barbados, Montserrat, and the Gambia largely of original tunes and very selective well known riffs to blend into their unique take.

Dividing  his time between London England and his birthplace Jamaica, reggae Artiste Noah Landale developed a cosmopolitan approach to Reggae music that encompasses various influences and has a multi generational appeal. For example, the beat for his current single WATA was built by a Zimbabwean beat maker and contains influences of soca, afro beat, reggae/dancehall etc. With Noah's dynamic contemporary vocals laminating a relationship that's grown cold like ice water.

A New and exciting 5 piece band formed in 2022, KING STONE is set to make waves in the UK’s music arena. Their style of music ranges from Reggae to contemporary Christian Worship to the street sounds of Hip Hop and UK Grime. King Stone is building momentum through music evangelism reaching the youth to share the gospel in the coolest way possible

Rootstone are a Bournemouth-based reggae band, comprising a mixture of multi-lingual musicians and singers hailing from Eastern Europe and East and Western Africa. They are committed to  delivering positive, soulful, uplifting, conscious lyrics, with a roots reggae vibe, in turn providing a platform to prove that music is international and should have no barriers.

Our remarkable street dance crew will be showcasing their incredible talent for the third consecutive year at the highly anticipated event, "Africa Comes to Bournemouth." Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 1st, and Sunday, July 2nd, as these talented young performers take the stage. DFA Warriors will be delivering a captivating fusion of urban and afrobeat dance styles, guaranteed to leave the audience in awe. Their dynamic performances have a remarkable ability to get the crowd energized and engaged. It's an experience you won't want to miss!
